P522

PC platform: Dos / Win95 / Win98

With its fast test time and high performance the P522 are very cost-effective in a fully automated environment. In less than 1 seconds it performs measurement of 250 different frequency points and tests parameters as frequency response, sensitivity, polarity, Rub & Buzz, THD, impedance, resonance, loudness, Q and F (Fres/Q). Each test data from the measurements are saved for future statistics and post-processing.

All the measurements are performed in one single sinus sweep from a built-in generator covering a frequency range from 10 Hz to 30 kHz

p522 The P522 generates sufficient power with the internal power amplifier to energize all defects from air-gap problems, puffing sounds, loose particles, constrained voice coil, cabinet rattling, litze wire clatter, glue problems etc., which generally speaking are known as Rub & Buzz distortion.

P522 are able to measure microphone frequency response due to the built-in output compress function. This enables a constant signal pressure even from a standard loudspeaker.

Frequency flatness of less than 0.2 dB can be obtained in a microphone test, with a reference microphone. Even in a production environment.

The system consists of a service friendly 19" cabinet with standard sized modules plus oscillator card, a data acquisition card and filter cards to be installed in a standard PC.
The cabinet contains protected 15 volt rms. power amplifier (optional 20 volt rms.) , up to 6 different input modules, an I/O module and microphone power supply.

The software is arranged in four modes, an operator mode, a technician mode, a global set-up mode, and a utility mode, which all are protected by passwords.

The operator mode is for day-to-day production testing of parameters already set-up in the technician mode. This mode is specially designed for non skilled personnel or for fully automated operations.
In the technician mode all parameters as frequency range, test level, reference curves limits, Rub & Buzz and THD filters etc. are customized to the specific requirements for each individual test.
In the global set-up the graphical presentation, test control, paths for files, chain of tests, statistics etc. are defined.
For post-processing and manipulation of stored data there are a number of Utility functions as Export and Import of data, Statistical analysis and graphical display of batch data etc. The statistical analysis including calculation of various numbers of standard deviation and average curves to determine the test limits. The analysis is able to find a best matched measured unit against the average or another unit.
